Shambhala Day – Year of the Wood Sheep

We have finished our move into our new space and have scheduled our Shambhala Day celebration for March 7th, 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

So “What is Shambhala day?” you ask.  Shambhala Day is the celebration of the Lunar New Year, also called Losar in Tibet.  It is an opportunity to reflect on the past year, let go of habitual patterns and make aspirations for the New Year.  It is a fresh start.

We mark Shambhala Day with a community celebration.  The theme or focus of the coming year is presented in an address by the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.  We will also have an opportunity to participate in the Shambhala Sadhana which is a beautiful practice acknowledging our basic goodness as individuals and a society.  And since no celebration is complete without food, we will have a potluck and afternoon tea.

We hope you will join us for a day of food, conversation and meditation.  You can find more information about Shambhala Day on our calendar.  We wish everyone a Cheerful Year of the Wood Sheep.
