February 17th

Date details +

Please join us in celebrating the New Year.  Palm Beach Shambhala will celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Earth Boar on Sunday, February 17th.

SHAMBHALA DAY marks the beginning of the New Year and represents one of the most important traditions of Shambhala Buddhism. Based on the traditional Tibetan New Year's celebration of Losar, the day is calculated astrologically according to the Tibetan lunar calendar and changes every year to coincide with the annual lunar cycles.
The Year of the Earth Boar is connected with simplicity, care, and the trustworthiness of earth. This feels so timely for our Shambhala community, to relax into the good roots of our lineage - of deep Buddhist practice, and caring sangha.

Celebration schedule: We ask that everyone arrive by 9:15 so we can begin promptly at 9:30 am.  We will end with a lunch celebration at 12:30.
